The Collision Repair Industry has been a part of my life from day one. In 1981 my father started our family business, Wilks Body Shop. I watched firsthand as the tiny shop grew to be a thriving business in our small town of Flat Rock. Our house was directly across Highway 117, so my childhood revolved around the shop and everything that happened there.
I am a 2000 graduate of Ider High School. My childhood and teenage years revolved around football, baseball, basketball and golf. Basketball became my passion where I was a member of the All-County and All-Area teams from 1998-2000. I also participated in various school clubs and organizations including Beta and FCA.
I attended Gadsden State Community College from 2000-2001 where I majored in Computer Science. I finished my Associates in Applied Science Degree in Drafting Design Technology at Northeast Alabama Community College in 2002. I accepted a Drafting/Design position in Fort Payne at Gametime, Inc.(Playcore, Inc.) in 2003 where I worked until 2011. I then returned full-time to the family shop where I presently am when not teaching.
In 2005 I married Ashley Duncan, a 2001 graduate and current 3rd grade teacher at North Sand Mountain School. We have three children (two sons and one daughter) who are all active in sports, music, gymnastics and various school activities. We reside in Flat Rock.
